The center of the universe is everywhere, this may sound crazy but in fact it is true. This is known as the Cosmological principle; no matter where you are in the universe, everything else will seem to move away from you, expanding at the same rate. The universe is expanding but not like a balloon getting bigger with all the people inside it, instead it is as if we are the surface of a balloon. If you were to paste a bunch of dots on the balloon and then blow it up, all of the dots will move away from each other at the same rate. On the surface of the balloon, there is no center. But if you compare the original arrangement of the dots with an arrangement after a 10% expansion, and want to observe where everything is moving away from, you will notice that if you line up any of the dots, it will look like the center of the expansion! You can do it with any of the dots, as long as you choose a dot as a frame of reference; it immediately becomes the center of the expansion. Now let say you are living in one of those dots, and see from your point of view. Guess what will you be?
So when you are feeling low and think that you have little self-worth, look up into the sky and think about this, no matter where you are, who you are, what your parents, your friends or your teacher told you. You are scientifically the center of the universe!
